Edmund, the child born in Otaheite, is not recognised as a child of James and Mary by a lot of the family — though he is on the Hibernia shipping list when they return from Otaheite in the Hibernia on 16th February 1810. Edmund is also listed as Edmund Elder working as a carpenter and living with John Jones in Sydney. I believe he is Edmund Smith who died in 1847 unmarried (but that needs researching).
