Robert McClenaghan (1840-1922) in 1872 at St Marys, South Rd, Adelaide, SA. | ||
It can be inferred from SA newspapers that Robert was a librarian/manager in London and took up that role in Adelaide in 1868. After a holiday, he sailed from England in Nov 1901 on the Oruba, accompanied by two Misses Baynes. Mrs McC slowly recovered from an accident for which she received substantial compensation. Residents in Adelaide, Moonta, and Penola will learn with regret of the death, at Bournemouth, England, of Mr. Robert McClenaghan, who was, for over 30 years, manager of country branches of the National Bank of Australasia. He outlived his wife by only a few months. Mr. McClenaghan was, for many years, actively identified with work of the Church of England, and was much respected by a wide circle of friends.(1922) |
